About

Welcome to Data Gravity, a publication focused on the economics, technical architecture, and structural dynamics of AI infrastructure. The work here centers on three converging categories: data infrastructure, cybersecurity, and AI-native infrastructure—the layers of the stack where compute, capital intensity, and enterprise control points decide long-term category winners.

I write for a technical audience: engineers building these systems, operators scaling them, and investors underwriting them. Expect quantitative analysis, market structure breakdowns, and decision-relevant frameworks—not commentary or hype. Topics I return to often include compute economics, GPU and accelerator markets, the unbundling and rebundling of the data stack, the security implications of agentic systems, and the margin structure of AI-first software.

What is Data Gravity?

Data gravity is the idea that as data becomes larger, the surrounding applications, compute, and AI systems naturally move closer to where the data resides. This publication explores how that gravitational pull is reshaping the future of AI infrastructure, enterprise software, and modern computing.

Bio

I’m a partner at Wing VC, based in Palo Alto and San Francisco. A few of the early-stage infrastructure and security companies I have the privilege of working with include: Bespoke Labs, Incalmo, Theom, Tensor9, and Zipline.ai. I previously invested in companies like Armis (acquired by ServiceNow), TriTech (acquired by Bain Capital), Sysdig, TradingView and others at Insight Partners.

Before that, I co-founded a data center and software startup focused on co-location infrastructure and managed services.
